BLOC is a mixtape of Soviet-era jazz, funk, soul and disco — pulled from an Eastern-Bloc record collection and a run of recent digging trips, mixed off the vinyl and laid down to two continuous cassette sides.
Georgia, Latvia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Yugoslavia, Estonia, Russia, Hungary, DDR — grooves that circulated inside the bloc and rarely made it out. Georgian funk, Bulgarian disco, Latvian jazz: the stuff that made this one worth cutting.
